Z-1 was a Japanese pop group from 1999 to 2002. The group was formed in 1998 after all four girls won the 7th Annual All Japan National Beautiful Girl Contest in 1998. They became a regular on various television shows and debuted on July 1999 with four different versions on their single Vibe!.

Sadly, the group broke up in 2002 with each girl pursuing their own career. Ueto Aya and Nishiwaki Manami would go on to a successful solo music career. Meanwhile, Fujiya Mai would go on to become an actress.
