capsule

capsule (カプセル) is an electronic duo from Tokyo, Japan. Born into the music scene on their own contemode label, a sub-label of YAMAHA MUSIC COMMUNICATIONS, started up by the group's producer Nakata Yasutaka, capsule made their major debut with the single "Sakura" through on March 28th, 2001. The duo's music has included elements of all sorts of styles, including: French pop music, bossa nova, lounge, house, and more currently synthpop and electronica. The group went on a temporary hiatus in the summer of 2007 as Koshijima had left Tokyo, and Nakata took a break to "recharge his inspiration for better songs in the future". In September of that year, the duo began been performing at clubs again and their first remix album "capsule rmx" was released the following month.

From their indies debut, to their current status, capsule has recently achieved a surge of popularity, possibly due to producer's Yasutaka's success with bands such as Perfume and MEG. Their first best album "FLASH BEST" will be released on August 28th, 2009.
