Yamamoto Junichi is a Japanese singer best known for being a member of the Johnny's Entertainment group Hikaru GENJI.

History

In 1986, Yamamoto Junichi passed the "Idol Hanagumi Otokogumi" audition and joined Johnny's Entertainment. The following year, he debuted as part of Hikaru GENJI and remained with the group until it disbanded in 1995.

The same year, he formed a unit to sing the opening song for the anime Nintama with some juniors (such as Ohno Satoshi or Ikuta Toma): Junichi&JJr.

In 2002, he left the company to start a solo career.
