Information

Okumura Chio first got her career in music when she was auditioning and won the chance to sing in a energy drink commercial while in high school. After graduating from high school in 1965, she debuted as a singer with the single Anata ga Inakute mo as a Japanese made Sylvie Vartan. But, her first hit came only a couple months later with the single Gomen ne Jero and later Kitaguni no Aoi Sora in 1967. Her next hit was in 1969, entitled Koi no Dorei, and became super hit for Okumura by selling over a million hits. By the end of the year, she would make her first appearance on the special program Kouhaku Uta Gassen.

At the start of the 70s, Okumura switched lyricists and started to work with Hama Keisuke. Soon after in 1974, Okumura would take a pause in show business after the two became an hit and getting married. However, six years later, she would comeback as a singer under the label Victor Entertainment with the sing;e Semete Sayonara wa....
