Loan Members to Team A

Beginning in 2012, selected members would be chosen to serve concurrent (兼任; kennin) or dual positions within AKB48 and one of its sister groups. Although they participate regularly in both groups, these memberships are only temporary, and after a period of time, they will be released from their second post and returned to their original team.

Information

On June 2005, Akimoto Yasushi had his first audition for his "Akihabara 48 Project", a project for a group that featured 48 girls who performed in their own theater. By October, he had picked 24 girls to be the first group of members for what came to be known as AKB48, and on December 8, 2005, 20 girls debuted in the Akihabara 48 Theater. At the end of Team A's first stage, Usami Yuki graduated to pursue a career in gravure.

On 2007, it was announced that Team A (who had just finished their fourth stage) and Team K (who had just finished their third would be performing together as Himawari-gumi, a team of mixed Team A and K members who performed two stages together. At the time, it was unclear whether they would revert back to their original teams after the run.

In August 2009, it was announced that the AKB48 teams would be shuffled in October 2009.

• The transfers to Team A were as followed:
  • Kuramochi Asuka and Matsubara Natsumi from Team K
  • Ota Aika, Katayama Haruka, Sashihara Rino, Nakagawa Haruka and Nakaya Sayaka from Team B,
  • Iwasa Misaki, Oya Shizuka, Suzuki Mariya and Maeda Ami from Kenkyuusei. Suzuki Mariya, however, was added to Team B after Suzuki Shihori withdrew.
• The transfers from Team A were as followed:
  • Itano Tomomi, Fujie Reina, and Minegishi Minami to Team K
  • Kitahara Rie, Sato Amina and Miyazaki Miho to Team B
  • Sato Yukari to SDN48
• This team formation performed the new stage "Mokugekisha". The shonichi stage was held on July 27, 2010, and the senshuuraku stage was held on October 29, 2012.

On April 2012, founding member Maeda Atsuko announced her graduation from the group, and graduated on August 27, 2012.

On June 2012, Sashihara Rino was transferred to HKT48 following a scandal.

On August 24, 2012, the teams were shuffled as part of the Tokyo Dome Team Shuffle. These changes took effect starting November 2012.

• The transfers to Team A were as followed:
  • Kikuchi Ayaka, Nakatsuka Tomomi, Nito Moeno, Matsui Sakiko, and Yokoyama Yui from Team K.
    • Yokoyama Yui was also given a concurrent position with NMB48, and was promoted to Team N on December 19, 2012.
  • Kasai Tomomi, Sato Sumire, Sato Natsuki, and Watanabe Mayu from Team B
  • Iriyama Anna, Iwata Karen, Kawaei Rina, Takahashi Juri, Tano Yuuka, and Nakamata Shiori from Team 4
  • Izuta Rina, Kobayashi Marina, and Morikawa Ayaka from Team Unknown
  • Oshima Ryoka from Kenkyuusei
  • Kotani Riho from NMB48 Team N also held a concurrent position.
• The transfers from Team A were as followed:
  • Kuramochi Asuka, Nakata Chisato, Nakaya Sayaka, Maeda Ami, and Matsubara Natsumi to Team K
  • Iwasa Misaki, Oya Shizuka, Katayama Haruka, and Kojima Haruna to Team B

• The first original team song with this new formation was Kodoku na Hoshizora, which was a coupling song for the single UZA.
• This team formation performed a Waiting Stage. The shonichi stage was held on November 2, 2012, and the senshuuraku stage was held on April 21, 2014.

On April 28, 2013, a minor team shuffle occured during the AKB48 Group Rinji Soukai "Shirokuro tsukeyou janai ka!" in which:

• Sasaki Yukari was promoted from Kenkyuusei.
• Kodama Haruka from HKT48 Team H, Suzuki Mariya from SNH48, and Yagura Fuuko from NMB48 Team M held concurrent positions.
• Kotani Riho's concurrent position was revoked.
• Yokoyama Yui's concurrent position with NMB48 Team N was revoked.
• Their first appearance on a Team A song was Kiss Made Countdown, which was a coupling song for the single Heart Ereki.

On June 8, 2013, during the AKB48 5th Annual General Election, founding member Shinoda Mariko announced her graduation from the group, and graduated on July 21, 2013.

On November 10, 2013, during the AKB48 Group Draft Kaigi 2013, Takita Kayoko and Nishiyama Rena were drafted to Team A.

On February 24, 2014, it was announced during the AKB48 Group Daisokaku Matsuri that the teams would be shuffled and would take effect starting April 2014.

• The transfers to Team A were as followed:
  • Nakata Chisato, Fujita Nana, Furuhata Nao, Maeda Ami, and Mutou Tomu from Team K
  • Katayama Haruka, Kojima Natsuki, Kojima Haruna, Shimazaki Haruka, and Nakamura Mariko from Team B
  • Ichikawa Manami and Tatsuya Makiho from Kenkyuusei
  • Nakanishi Chiyori from HKT48 Team H
  • Miyawaki Sakura from HKT48 Team KIV also held a concurrent position.
• The transfers from Team A were as followed:
  • Kodama Haruka, Suzuki Mariya, Tano Yuuka, and Yokoyama Yui to Team K
  • Izuta Rina, Oshima Ryoka, Takahashi Juri, and Watanabe Mayu to Team B
  • Kobayashi Marina and Sasaki Yukari to Team 4
  • Iwata Karen to SKE48 Team S. Iwata, however, cancelled this position, and remained in Team A.
  • Sato Sumire to SKE48 Team E
  • Kikuchi Ayaka to NMB48 Team N. Kikuchi, however, cancelled this position, and remained in Team A.
• The first original team song with this new formation was Kimi wa Kimagure, which was a coupling track for the single Labrador Retriever.
• This team formation performed a second rendition of the team's 5th stage "Ren'ai Kinshi Jourei. The shonichi stage was held on Apri 25, 2014, and the senshuuraku stage was held on August 23, 2015.

On May 25, 2014, members Iriyama Anna and Kawaei Rina were injured along with a staff member and other fans during a handshake event in Iwate. Both members took a break to recover from their injuries. Kawaei returned to the theater on October 8, 2014, while Iriyama returned on February 13, 2015.

On December 8, 2014, during AKB48's ninth anniversary show, founding member Takahashi Minami announced her graduation from the group, which was set for December 8, 2015, the same day as the group's tenth anniversary. The date was then postponed so that her graduation ceremony would be held on March 26-27, 2016, and her last theater performance would be held on April 8, 2016.

On March 26, 2015, it was announced during the AKB48 Spring Concert 〜Jikiso Imada Shugyouchu!〜 concert that the teams would be shuffled and would take effect starting August 2015. On the same day, Kawaei Rina announced her graduation from the group, declaring that since she could not participate in handshake events anymore after the Iwate Incident, she now wants to focus on her acting career. She graduated on August 4, 2015.

• The transfers to Team A were as followed:
  • Miyazaki Miho and Yokoyama Yui from Team K
  • Oya Shizuka, Owada Nana, Ogasawara Mayu, and Hirata Rina from Team B
  • Sasaki Yukari from Team 4
  • Shiroma Miru from NMB48 Team M and Yamada Nanami from Team 8 also held concurrent positions
• The transfers from Team A were as followed:
  • Ichikawa Manami, Nakata Chisato, Fujita Nana, Matsui Sakiko, and Mutou Tomu to Team K. Matsui, however, graduated before the position took effect.
  • Tatsuya Makiho to Team B
  • Iino Miyabi to Team 4
  • Furuhata Nao and Yagura Fuuko's concurrent positions were revoked
• The first original team song with this new formation was Clap, which was a coupling song for the best-album 0 to 1 no Aida.
• This team formation performed the new stage "M.T. ni Sasagu". The shonichi stage was held on February 10, 2016, and the senshuuraku stage was held on May 16, 2018.

On May 10, 2015, during the AKB48 Group Draft Kaigi 2015, Hiwatashi Yui was drafted to Team A, but instead of being promoted to the team, she started as a Kenkyuusei. She was promoted to Team A on February 10, 2016, during the shonichi of the team's 7th stage "M.T. ni Sasagu".

On June 18, 2016, during the AKB48 45th Single Senbatsu Sousenkyo, founding member Kojima Haruna (who portrayed fictional idol Nyan Nyan Kamen) announced her graduation from the group. Her graduation concert was held on February 21-22, 2017 at Yoyogi National Stadium First Gymnasium, and she graduated from the group on April 19, 2017.

On October 3, 2016, Shimazaki Haruka announced her graduation from the group, and graduated on December 26, 2016.

On December 8, 2017, it was announced during the group's 12th anniversary event that the teams would be shuffled and would take effect starting April 2018.

• The transfers to Team A were as followed:
  • Shinozaki Ayana and Mukaichi Mion from Team K
  • Kato Rena, Goto Moe, and Nishikawa Rei from Team B
  • Chiba Erii from Team 4
  • Suzuki Kurumi, Taguchi Manaka, and Maeda Ayaka from Kenkyuusei
  • Team 8 members concurrent with Team A: Okabe Rin, Okumoto Hinano, Oguri Yui, Shitao Miu, Shimoaoki Karin, Tanikawa Hijiri, Cho Kurena, Hayasaka Tsumugi, Hitomi Kotone, Yoshida Karen
  • Sato Minami, Shoji Nagisa, Michieda Saki, and Yamane Suzuha remained Kenkyuusei members who are binded to Team A.

• The first original team song with this new formation was Romantic Junbichuu, which was a coupling song for the single Teacher Teacher.
• This team formation performed a second rendition of the team's 6th stage "Mokugekisha". The shonichi stage was held on June 12, 2018.

On January 21, 2018, during the AKB48 Group 3rd Draft Kaigi, three members were drafted to Team A, which include Sato Shiori, Furukawa Nazuna, and Honda Sora. Instead of being promoted to the team, they started as Kenkyuusei members.
