"A BEST 2" is the third "best of" compilation by [[Hamasaki Ayumi]]. It was released in two versions; [[A Best 2 -Black-|BLACK]] and WHITE. The WHITE version contains upbeat and happy songs selected from everything since her 20th single [[Evolution|evolution]] (2001) up to her 38th single [[Bold & Delicious / Pride]] (2005). The second DVD replaced the release of the COUNTDOWN LIVE DVD of the year (as it was usual). The first press of the album included a special white case. "A BEST 2 -WHITE-" topped the pre-order charts at the first week it got announced followed by "A BEST 2 -BLACK-". The first press on the album had some mistakes in the credits area, the second press is corrected, that's why the second press of the album has a different cover. All tracks were re-mastered by Bernie Grundman Mastering in L.A. in order to give a better sound quality to the album. Because the album sold a total 716,582 copies in 2007, it became the #5 album of the year. To date, A BEST 2 sold a combine total of 1,423,317 copies.
  
COUNTDOWN LIVE 2006-2007 did not receive a traditional DVD release; instead, it was released on A BEST 2 -WHITE-, and its behind-the-scenes documentary was released with A BEST 2 -BLACK-. In addition to this, each compilation had a DVD of each song's promotional video. Where a promotional video was not filmed, a commercial is used in its place on the DVD.

A BEST 2 -WHITE- debuted at #2 in Oricon Charts (Japan) but it reached #1 in next days. This is the first time in 36 and a half years that a female artist occupied #1 and #2 in album charts. A BEST 2 -WHITE- reached #1 in Japan, #1 in Singapore, #2 in Taiwan and #28 in Hong Kong. In its first week in Taiwan Ayumi occupied a half of total J-Pop sales and 11% of total sales. Together, the A BEST 2 albums have shipped more than 2,000,000 copies in Japan alone.
  
After the first week sales of A Best 2: Black and White were announced, Hamasaki had already garnered sales of over 1 million copies. With the release of A Best 2, Hamasaki also broke many records. Information

"A BEST 2" is the third "best of" compilation by Hamasaki Ayumi. It was released in two versions; BLACK and WHITE. The WHITE version contains upbeat and happy songs selected from everything since her 20th single evolution (2001) up to her 38th single Bold & Delicious / Pride (2005). The second DVD replaced the release of the COUNTDOWN LIVE DVD of the year (as it was usual). The first press of the album included a special white case. "A BEST 2 -WHITE-" topped the pre-order charts at the first week it got announced followed by "A BEST 2 -BLACK-". The first press on the album had some mistakes in the credits area, the second press is corrected, that's why the second press of the album has a different cover. All tracks were re-mastered by Bernie Grundman Mastering in L.A. in order to give a better sound quality to the album. Because the album sold a total 716,582 copies in 2007, it became the #5 album of the year. To date, A BEST 2 sold a combine total of 1,423,317 copies.

Charts

A BEST 2 -WHITE- debuted at #2 in Oricon Charts (Japan) but it reached #1 in next days. This is the first time in 36 and a half years that a female artist occupied #1 and #2 in album charts. A BEST 2 -WHITE- reached #1 in Japan, #1 in Singapore, #2 in Taiwan and #28 in Hong Kong. In its first week in Taiwan Ayumi occupied a half of total J-Pop sales and 11% of total sales. Together, the A BEST 2 albums have shipped more than 2,000,000 copies in Japan alone.
