In 1994, Ahane participated in a talent contest by Colombia Records called "Colombia Shinjin Kashu Audition" (コロムビア新人歌手オーデション) winning the grand prix. In 1996 she participated in an audition called Komu-ro Garçons (ASAYAN Idol Group Audition 96), which aired on the TV show ASAYAN, singing the song Watashi ga Iru by Ishimine Satoko. She was dubbed the "Okinawa no Tensai Shoujo" (lit. Genius Girl from Okinawa). The audition spawned no winners, and rumors said that it was actually a "record company audition", as several of the participants were approaced when the auditions finished and were offered record deals. Ahane later participated in another audition called Komu-ro Garçons Record Kaisha Soudatsu Dai Houshutsu Audition (コムロギャルソン・レコード会社争奪・大放出オーディション). Ahane secured a deal with Pioneer LDC (now Geneon Entertainment), and released her debut single on October 23rd, 1996.

She stopped releasing music in 1999 after her Best Selection album was released, but briefly returned to the music scene to release a single in 2005. Since then she has not been active.
