Information

JUDY AND MARY

Main article: JUDY AND MARY

Asanuma Takuya joined JUDY AND MARY back in 1993 not long before they were signed by the major label Sony Music Entertainment. While in JUDY AND MARY TAKUYA rose to fame. Here he wrote the vast majority of the music and lyrics. He often co-wrote lyrics with YUKI under the nicknames Takky and Yukky. The band split in 2001 after their WARP album tour. During his time with the band they spawned five number one allbums and a number extremely sucessful singles. In 2005 Music Station listed the band as being the 44th best-selling artist in Japan with compiled sales of over 14,130,000.

ROBOTS

TAKUYA also was a active member of the band ROBOTS. He was in the band in the early '90's but left them to play with JUDY AND MARY. Even during his time with JAM he took time out to record with ROBOTS and fully rejoined them after JAM's demise in 2001.

Solo Work

TAYUKA also had a short lived solo career. In 2002 he released his first single i love you barely cracking into the top 50. Sales only declined after this. His next single barely into the top 80. By the time his second album was released his sales failed to land him a spot in the top 200.

Producer

TAKUYA has also started producing and composing music for other artists. Most noticably Takahashi Hitomi. He first colaberated with her on her fourth single Communication. Since that single he has continued to work with her. Her 2007 single CANDY·LINE was also described as bringing back the sound of JUDY AND MARY in their glory days.

TAKUYA was also listed as being a contributor on misono's debut album, never+land. Though he failed to be seen on it after it's release.
