Indie means a band belongs to an Independent label. They have more freedom than Major bands, but don't have the financial support of Major labels. Indie is usually where the typical band begins; everyday, there are countless bands emerging. A few of the more well know Indie bands are D, Shulla, Metronome , Ayabie, HY, and Gazette.

Similar Terms

This is not to be confused with Indies, an Engrish term used chiefly to describe bands on independent record labels in the Visual-Kei and Angura-Kei world. Sometimes these terms are mixed, and then it is up to the reader to decide the true meaning, however irrelevant.
