Information

"Lollipop" is a collaboration song by YG Entertainment groups BIGBANG and 2NE1. It was used to promote a cellphone by LG Electronics "CYON" (Lollipop, model name: LG-SV800, KH8000, LH8000). The CF was released on the CYON site on March 28th 2009, and it started airing on TV on April. The MV of the song was released on April 3, 2009 on the CYON site. A "re-edit version" of the MV was also released some days later.

On April 6, 2009 the song "Lollipop" took Super Junior's "Sorry Sorry" and Davichi's "8282" off the #1 position on Melon (the biggest Korean online chart). The song also top charts on Dosirak, Bugs, Mnet and Cyworld. The song going up to the #1 position because it was only released in the CM, and not to radio or music programs. Only a MV and a 30 sec CF of it has been released. YG also spoke up about it, "Since BIGBANG has stopped all their official schedule, it is impossible that they will perform the song on stage, the results are beyond our expectations."

The song won 2nd place at Music Bank's chart on April 10th 2009, beating Super Junior's "Sorry Sorry" and just behind Son Dambi's "On a Saturday Night". The song was still topping charts and was expected to appear on Music Bank's chart on April 19th 2009, but due to it being a CM song it could only be featured on Music Bank's chart for a limited amount of time. The only reason why the song could participate on Music Bank's chart the first time is that it was #1 on several online music charts. The song also was #1 at MNet's real time chart for four consecutive weeks.

A second version of the CF was released on August 18 2009.
