MISIA GREATEST HITS is the first best album released by MISIA. The best was released due to MISIA leaving Sony Music Japan to the avex trax's sublabel Rhythmedia Tribe. The first press came with a CD-Extra containing the music video for an unreleased track called "Amai Koibito".

The album reached #1 on the Oricon charts, charted for 68 weeks and sold 1,852,164 copies, becoming the 4th best-selling album of 2002.
