Marui Taiyou -winter ver.- is Taiyou to Ciscomoon's sixth single. It sold 20,670 copies in its first week and 29,670 copies total. The c/w tracks are remixes of the group's fifth single Magic of Love. This is the group's only release to not feature Kominato Miwa who had temporarily left at the time of release. A "4-nin" version of "Marui Taiyou" appears on the group's album 2nd STAGE as well as the compilation album Petit Best ~Ki Ao Aka~. Country Musume ni Konno to Fujimoto covered "Marui Taiyou" as the B-side of their single Sempai ~LOVE AGAIN~. "Marui Taiyou" was the second opening theme for the anime Majutsushi Orphen: Revenge
