Megaromania promoting "BLESSING MYTH" (2011)
Left to Right: Chikage, Sui, yushi, Misery, Hyoga

Megaromania is an five member Japanese rock band of the visual-kei variety. They formed in March of 2008 and soon joined the indies label UNDER CODE PRODUCTION in Osaka with the band concept of Aesthetics of Creativity (創造の美学; "Souzou no Bigaku"). The group is reminiscent of kote-kei (コテ系), which is traditional or 90's visual-kei, much like Sui and Misery's previous band Metis Gretel.

Megaromania promoting their three debut singles (2008)

Megaromania was formed on October 10th, 2008 but the idea of the band was created some time before Sui and Misery's past band, Metis Gretel, disbanded. With Metis Gretel dissolving on October 3rd, Megaromania was now able to start activity. The line-up was vocalist Sui, guitarist Misery (both ex-Metis Gretel), guitarist Chikage (ex-STELLA...), bassist Hyoga (ex-Homura), and drummer Leda (ex-Han-nya).

On April 1st the band joined Osaka independent label UNDER CODE PRODUCTION with the band concept of Aesthetics of Creativity. It was also during this time that their first releases were announced, three debut singles released simultaneously. Those singles were released on May 28th and were titled "Bishuu no Kajitsu", "God of Megaromania -Junketsu no Kokuin-", and "Angelical Jewelry". These would reach #9, #8, and #10 respectively on the indies Oricon chart. While they would, in order, reach #193, #181, and #195 on the major chart where they all charted for a week.

Their first live was a two-man concert with Deshabillz called "Shisei, Inochi Ari~ Ichiju no Kage Ichikawa no Nagare mo Tashou no Fuchi" on June 1st at HOLIDAY SHINJUKU. They then played two lives: the first on June 28th at OSAKA MUSE and the second on the next day at HOLIDAY NAGOYA. July started with their first sponsored events, two consecutive CD release events starting on the 5th at HOLIDAY SHINJUKU titled "Bishuu no Yakata -Art of GOD-" and "Bishuu no Yakata -GOD of Oath-" respectively.

On July 9th their first mini-album, Birth of an "Idea", was released in two different types. This is the first of theirs to be released in different types and it also features their first PV. It reached #296 on the major Oricon chart, where it charted for a week. This led into a string of 11 lives and events spanning July 19th to August 16th. Two of note are the S'CUBE organised "SCUBER DIVE ~Naniwa ga Taihen~" event on August 1st at Shinsaibashi CLUB DROP and the "SCUBER DIVE ~Shibuya ga Taihen~" event on August 4th at Shibuya clubasia. Also during August Megaromania took part in the Tribute to Phantasmagoria 2008 tour, playing three dates: the 19th at Shibuya O-WEST, the 21st at HOLIDAY NAGOYA, and the 23rd at OSAKA MUSE.

September 14th was when the band participated in Black:List's RIOT '08 1st IMPACT tour final at Meguro Rockmaykan. On two consecutive days, starting on September 20th, at HOLIDAY OSAKA Megaromania took part in Heisei Ishin's sponsored events titled "THE FIRST HOLY COLOSSEUM -2DAYS-". The band then had their own sponsored events, collectively called "Bishuu no Yakata Cardinal -Circle-", on consecutive days during October. The events stretched three days and were: at HOLIDAY SHINJUKU on the 24th, HOLIDAY NAGOYA on the 25th, and HOLIDAY OSAKA on the 26th.

November was an important month for the band, it started with them taking part in ClearVeil's CD release events "The future of despair ~Soko ni Arumono~" on the 2nd at Takadanobaba AREA and the 8th at OSAKA MUSE. After a live on the 15th at HOLIDAY OSAKA, they released their fourth single "Transparent Shine" on the 19th in two different types. This reached #156 on the major Oricon chart, where it charted for a week. This month ended with their first one-man concert called "The Birth of Creation -Tenchi Souzou-" at Meguro Rockmaykan on the 23rd.

The end of the year was filled with only five events, spanning from December 5th to the 31st. Some of note are: the KISAKI produced UNDER CODE PRODUCTION vs CROW MUSIC vs Planet CHILD Music "VISUAL LIVE FACTORY VOL:1" event on the 5th at HOLIDAY OSAKA, the Kiryu presents "Garyoutensei -Sono Ni-" event on the 13th at Shibuya BOXX, and the "YEAR END of HOLIDAY 2008-2009" event on the 31st through to January 1st, 2009 at HOLIDAY SHINJUKU.
