Minzy was discovered by YG Entertainment in 2005 when a video of her dance audition was uploaded on the internet. Yang Hyun Suk recruited Minzy after seeing the video and she trained for 5 years before joining 2NE1. Minzy graduated from middle school and decided to fully devote herself to 2NE1.
