Information

Oginome Yoko started her music career when she won the Chibikko Uta Man Best Ten contest while in elementary school. She later was scouted and soon joined the group Milk with Omori Kinuko and Obata Kazumi. They released their first single in 1974 but soon broke up when the girls graduated from elementary school.

When in middle school, Oginome auditioned for the anime movie series Kitty Films and soon became one of the main heroine roles in the series, the character Miyuki, in 1983. After the series ended in 1984, she soon debuted as singer under the label Victor Entertainment with the single "Mirai Kouka -Sailing-". But it wasn't till the seventh single, the eurobeat-themed single "Dancing Hero (Eat You Up)", that Oginome became very popular. Soon after, she made her first out of five appearance on the end of the year program Kouhaku Uta Gassen. She also started to win the Golden Prize at the Japan Record Awards from 1985 to 1989.

In 1988, Oginome would work with music producer Narada Michael Walden to release her first English album VERGE OF LOVE. When she entered the 90s, she also started appear in doramas, variety shows, and music shows like SUPER JOCKEY, where she earned the nickname Oginome-chan.

Oginome married in 2001 to her former classmate at Horikoshi High School, Tsujino Ryuuzou. She also released the album VOICE NOVA, a cover album of 80's songs, in 2006.
