Information

REIMY started off as a backup member for Matsutouya Masataka and Matsutouya Yumi in 1984 when she caught the attaction of many due to her sister always carrying a photo of her. That same year, she released her first single, entitled "Ai ni DESPERATE". Two years later, she released the album My Sanctuary, which was produced by Trevor Price and recorded in Los Angeles. Two albums later, CHIEMY released SMOOTH TALK, her first English album. From that album, she released a club remix single of the song "SPEED OF LIGHT" in America. The single was quite popular as it reached #14 on Billboard's Dance Chart.

In 1989, REIMY collobrated with Kobayashi Akiko, Nagai Mariko, and Karashima Midori to release the single "MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU", The song won an award at the 4th Annual Nihon Golden Disc Taishou. Then in 1993, she began to compose dorama and film soundtracks under the name REMEDIOS.
