"RHYTHM RED BEAT BLACK" is TMN's 23rd single. The single was released after appearing on the album RHYTHM RED. The title track was used as a theme song for the House Foods O'ZACK commercials. The single reached #3 on the weekly Oricon charts, selling over 533,460 copies. It also reached #17 on the yearly Oricon charts for that year.
A video single was released on the same day as the CD single. It features three tracks; an introduction, the title track's music video, and a music video for the previous single, "TIME TO COUNTDOWN". It was re-released on DVD in 2005.
A remixed, English version, named "RHYTHM RED BEAT BLACK (Version 2.0)", was released in 1991 as the band's 24th single. The group Denki GROOVE appears on the b-side, "RHYTHM RED BEAT BLACK (Version 300000000000)", as their debut song. "RHYTHM RED BEAT BLACK (Version 2.0)" reached #3 on the weekly Oricon charts.
