Information

In 1991, Sakai Miki's first claim to fame was when she was chosen to be the mascot for the television variety show JanJan Saturday. She debuted as a singer two years later with the single Eien ni Suki to Ienai.

She debuted as an actress for television doramas and films in 1995 starting with the dorama Tokyo Mato Seitansai. She has received many awards for her acting including the Japan Academy Award's award for best newcomer in the film Love Letter and best co-star in Yuukai.

She married an doctor four years her senior on October 2008. In the same year, she became the good will ambassador for the nonprofit children relief program World Vision Japan.
