Information

"SHOCK" is BEAST's first Japanese single, and first Japanese language release. The title track was previously released in Korean on their second Korean mini-album Shock Of The New Era, as the lead track for it.

The single was released in four editions, three limited and one regular. Limited Edition A comes housed in a special box, including a "JAPAN DEBUT PREMIUM" T-shirt and a BEAST logo sticker. Regular edition comes with a trading card.

Each edition of the single features different B-sides. Limited Edition A includes the three duet songs from the Korean digital mini-album My Story. Limited Edition B includes the song "Break Down", previously released on their Korean third mini-album Mastermind. Limited Edition C, and Regular Edition include the songs "Lightless", "Lights go on again" and "Niga Jeil Joha" previously released on their fourth Korean mini-album Lights go on again.

All the songs are Korean versions except for the title track. The songs with Korean titles include the Japanese translation next to the Katakana.

The single debuted at #2 on Oricon charts with 28,532 copies sold, becoming the highest ranked debut single by a non-Japanese Asian artist. The record was held since 2009 by BIGBANG with the single "MY HEAVEN".
