Takahashi Mariko (高橋真梨子) is a Japanese pop singer signed to Victor Entertainment. The began her career in 1972 as the lead vocalist of the band Pedro & Capricious, who is known for the song "Johnny e no Dengon". In 1978, she left the band to pursuit a solo career.

Takahashi Mariko was born in Hiroshima but soon moved to Fukuoka, where she grew up. Influenced by her father, a Jazz musician, her childhood was surrounded by music. At the age of 14, she began studying Jazz. Encouraged by her father, at the age of 16, Takahashi left her hometown to study music in Tokyo. There, she attended Komazawa High School and had a chance to study singing with Shibata Yasushi, a Jazz pianist. After graduating from high school, Takahashi returned to Fukuoka and performed with her father at live houses. She was discovered by Umemura Pedro and received an invitation to become the leading vocalist of his band, Pedro & Capricious.

In 1972, she debuted with Pedro & Capricious under stage name Takahashi Mari and gained attention with the song "Johnny e no Dengon" in 1974, which gave her a chance to perform at the 74th Kouhaku Uta Gassen. During her time with the band, she also learned to sing different types of music, from Latin to pop. In August 1978, Takahashi left Pedro & Capricious to pursuit a solo career. She made her solo debut in November 1978 with the single, "Anata no Sora wo Tobitai".
