Tsuruku Masaharu (鶴久政治) is a Japanese pop singer, talento, and former side vocalist for the band The Checkers.

Information

After graduating high school, Tsuruku went to college at Keizai University. There, he joined the band The Checkers and left school afterwards to join his bandmates in a major debut in Tokyo. He became the side vocalist of the band but also played the keyboard and composed many of the band's songs. Many years later in 1989, Tsuruku made his solo debut with the single "Anata Shidai" and album LOVIN' SPOONFUL, released on the same day. He continued his solo career after The Checkers broke up in 1992 but would later stop temporarily when his company let him go. In 2003, he finally got attached to a new company but didn't settle down permanently when he joined the company Suite Room.
