Uehara joined MAXIMUM THE HORMONE after the band had released their first album, A.S.A. Crew in 1998. He joined as the replacement for former bassist KEY in 1999. Unlike the other members of the band, Uehara is not a primarily a vocalist in the band, but he has been seen singing backup in PVs and his vocals could be heard in the song "Houchou Hasami Cutter Knife Dosu Kiri" on the album Rokkinpo Goroshi.
