Uehara joined MAXIMUM THE HORMONE after the band had released their first album, A.S.A. Crew in 1998. He joined as the replacement for former bassist KEY after his departure from the band in 1999. Unlike the other members of the band, Uehara is not a primarily a vocalist in the band, but he has been seen singing backup in PVs and his vocals could be heard in the song "Houchou Hasami Cutter Knife Dosu Kiri" on the album Rokkinpo Goroshi.

Uehara is the youngest member of MAXIMUM THE HORMONE.

Uehara is a fan of the band Red Hot Chili Peppers, and his style of bass playing is heavily influenced by their bassist, Michael "Flea" Balzary. Uehara even bears tattoos on his chest and shoulders resembling those of Flea. As Flea, he often plays shirtless during both PVs and live performances. The equipment Uehara uses is also the same as Flea's.

Uehara possesses the qualifications as a legal and certified care worker in Japan.

Like fellow bandmates Nao and Ryo, Uehara is married, though his date of marriage is unknown to the public. He is also the father to a child.
