I'm going to have to ask you to stop uploading photo book content (other than the cover). It violates the wikia image use policy and any fair use law. Generasia is not an image gallery - we are simply here to provide information for users.
Sorry about that. Would you like me to remove them or will you do that? Also check the calendar section. I uploaded pages of the calendars. I can remove those if it is a violation. Are magazine covers ok?
Thanks! I will certainly comply with all the rules.
Yes, please remove the calendar images as well. Magazine covers are ok. Thank you for understanding, the reason this wiki continues to exist is because of those rules. (:
And if you can, please categorize images. For example, you would write Category:Mano Erina Images in the comments surrounded by double brackets.
Can the categorization occur after the scans are loaded in? I will try to seek out the information. I will remove the calendar images now. I had visited the hello! project wikis, and sort of based off of that, but I will be better with my contributions in the future!
Yes, you can go in and add comments via the edit tab at the top of the page.
How about the images of the calendar's front page? Can they be kept? I have removed text for the other pages. Can I delete the old calendar and photo book images or does an admin do that? I am in the process of adding the categorization line. Hopefully it is right...
Again, please stop uploading all these images. This Wiki is meant to be a source of information, not an image gallery. Pages should have enough information to support the images. We also don't need all those magazine photos. Pages like this contain zero information.
Sorry, this is the first I heard about uploading images in general or magazine photos in particular. What kind of information would make these useful, or are images just not wanted?
Images are allowed, but in moderation. The point of this wiki is to provide information. I don't think there is really anything that can be added to pages like this. I think magazines can be a great resource for articles, but they're are not substantial enough for their own pages (a general publication yes: Shojo Beat). I don't see the relevance of listing them on the artist page, there are 52 magazine covers on Mano Erina's page... There is too many images on pages like this; see how information ends, but the page is still stretched because there are too many images.
I have brought this up on the forum and the in the Photobook category, please feel free to weigh in. Still waiting for another moderator to join. For now I would say photo books are allowed; although I personally only feel like ones of some kind of cultural relevance such as Amuro Namie's 19770920 or Kuriyama Chiaki's controversial Shinwa Shoujo should be created, as there is nothing to really be said about a regular idol photo book. As for the calendars, they don't need their own pages, but I think it's fine to leave their covers on the artist page.
That's fine, I understand that. My thinking on the magazines was that might be an indicator of how popular an artist is becoming. I never thought about the affects of creating an individual page for each item. If you like I can undo any of this from both the Hashimoto Kanna page and the Mano Erina page. Let me know what if preferable and I can make the changes or someone else can do it. Thank you for the clarification!
I've removed Mano Erina's individual magazine pages and the calendars. Moving forward continue to use the "Mano Erina Publications" Category, and list the magazines there. If you like the images to be in more order, you could upload them with the date at the start of file name (example "2016.10.02 UTA.jpg")
That would work well for me. That would make the page look better. Thanks!
Is there a reason the link to the publications needs to be in small font? It may be my eyes but it is barely readable...
