Yamazaki Mei (2019)

Yamazaki Mei (山﨑愛生) is a Japanese pop singer and idol managed by Up-Front Promotion and part of Hello! Project. She is a fifteenth generation member of Morning Musume.

Profile

History

Yamazaki Mei auditioned to become a Ciaogirl, a model for Ciao magazine, sometime in 2014. She participated in the "Hello! Project "Hokkaido Gentei" Member Audition" between June and July 2015, and on June 30, 2016 was officially introduced as a member of Hello Pro Kenshuusei Hokkaido during the "Hello! Project 2016 Summer ~Sunshine Parade~" concert in Sapporo, alongside Oota Haruka, Satou Hikari, Ishiguri Kanami, Kawano Minori, Kitagawa Ryou, and Kudou Yume.

On May 6, 2018 at the "Hello! Project Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2018 ~Haru no Koukai Jitsuryoku Shindan Test~" event Mei recieved the Judges singing award for her performance of Juice=Juice's "Wonderful World (English Ver.)". The following year on May 4, 2019 at the "Hello! Project Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2019 ~Haru no Koukai Jitsuryoku Shindan Test~" event Mei was awarded the Judges character award for a performance of °C-ute's "Mugen Climax". Three months later on June 22nd she was revealed as one of three 15th generation members of Morning Musume, alongside "Morning Musume '19 LOVE Audition " audition winners Kitagawa Rio and Okamura Homare. Their first live appearances would take place during the Hello! Project Summer 2019 concert series, and regular activities would begin with Morning Musume's Autumn 2019 concert tour.
