Yousei Teikoku
Yousei Teikoku (妖精帝國; Fairy Empire), also known as Das Feenreich, is a five-membered Japanese gothic rock band signed to Lantis. In 1997 Tachibana Takaha met YUI, princess of the Fairy Empire. An empire that faces devastation ever since humans stopped believing in fairies. The Fairy Empire's Military Band (妖精帝國第参軍楽隊) was formed to revive this ruined empire to it's former glory through their music.
With the release of Baptize (2010) the band grew as drummer Relu and bassist Nanami joined the duo. After filament (2012) Relu left the band, but new drummer Gight and guitarist Shiren were introduced as new members for the release of their first original album PAX VESANIA (2013). As of this album, the band started to lean more and more into a heavier sound which became more prominent over the years. In 2017 the band celebrated it's 20th anniversary with the single flamma idola. A new original album to commemorate their anniversary was in the works too. However, during the recording Shiren experienced a relapse of his tenosynovitis of the arm. This forced him to leave the band and the recording of this album was put on hold. Four and a half years after the release of their original album SHADOW CORPS[e] Yousei Teikoku returned, enforced by guitarists XiVa and ryöga, and introduced their fans (also known as "subjects") to a new age: the age of villains.
Yousei Teikoku creates music that fuses rock and heavy metal together with classical and techno sounds. In addition to creating songs for TV anime and games, such as their hit Kuusou Mythology written for the anime Future Diary, they produce original songs and regularly perform for their "subjects" in live shows called "ceremonies".
