XG
XG (Xtraordinary Girls) is an global Japanese Hip-Hop/R&B girl group under XGALX, a subsidiary of avex trax. While consisting of all Japanese members, the group primarily promotes in South Korea and sings in English. They made their debut on March 18, 2022, with the release of the digital single "Tippy Toes".
XG's social media accounts were launched on January 25, 2022, with a short video entitled XGALX – The Beginning. Several teasers were released afterwards, including song covers, performance videos, and most noteably, the rap cypher video entitled GALZ XYPHER. The video became viral on a TikTok through an XG fan account, gaining 14 million views on the platform.
On November 2, 2022, XG won the Rising Star Award at the MTV Video Music Awards Japan. On March 6, 2023, the group entered the Mediabase US Radio Top 40, becoming the first female Japanese artist and the first Japanese group to do so.
Their first mini-album, NEW DNA, is released this week on September 27th.
