"Atashi no Machi, Ashita no Machi" is the ninth single recorded Takahashi Hitomi. It was used as the first opening theme song for the anime series Toshokan Sensou. The song deals with Takahashi's move from her hometown to the big city in Tokyo. The coupling track for the single, "mother's car" was used as the ending theme song of the NHK TV show Digital Stadium. The first pressing of the CD came with a limited edition sticker. The single is written and produced by Satoru Hiraide, best known for producing rock band UVERworld.

Music Video
The music video for the song was filmed by Muramatsu Mao in an unknown location. The video features Takahashi singing in a white room as she sits on a suitcase. Later in the video, Takahashi is seen singing on the balcony outside the room with a city in the background.
