Code-V originally debuted in 2007 as a four-member group named BLESS with the single "Cheotbeonjjae Iyagi". Only a few months after the release of their debut single, a new member joined the group, Jaewon, who would become the youngest member. After the release of four singles/digital singles, the group went on hiatus as they didn't gained too much success.

One year and four months later, in June 2010, BLESS made their comeback as Code-V with the digital single "Poisoning". Only two months later, in August 2010, it was announced that former leader Taemin would leave the group for personal reasons. Although Taemin officially left the group in August 21, he still appeared on the group's next two releases, the digital soundtrack singles "Giant OST Part.4" and "King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo OST Part.8".

In October 2010, it was announced that a new member had joined the group, Rui, and that they were preparing for their comeback. In May 2011 the group released their first album HONESTLY.

In 2013, Jaewon's contract was terminated following an exposé by his ex-girlfriend of his private life and his racist comments towards the Japanese. In 2014, Sang Woo, Na Law, and Rui enlisted into the army, putting their activities on hold. Two new members, Woosik and Taehoon, were added to the group.
