"Dearest" is Hamasaki Ayumi's 24th single. The title track was used as the third ending theme for the anime InuYasha. This single reached #1 on the weekly Oricon charts and sold 696,990 copies in 2001, becoming the #17 single of the year. It charted for 17 weeks and sold a total of 750,420 copies.

The music video for "Dearest" was directed by Takeishi Wataru. It shows Hamasaki surrounded by security guards, while marketeers discuss her promotions and future. She ends up running away, with bodyguards chasing her and the crowd cheering her up. The PV ends up with Hamasaki singing in a wind farm, as a symbol of freedom.
