"FAST CAR" is a song recorded by Amuro Namie, and produced by the Scandinavia team Dsign Music. This is her only song produced by them, and it features lyrics written by TIGER whom Amuro has been working with since 2003's STYLE. The song was recorded as the opening track for Amuro's eighth studio record PAST < FUTURE. It was used a promotional single for the album, and its music video won "Best Video of the Year" and "Best Art Direction" at the Space Shower Music Video Awards.
The song is about a woman who is teasing a boy by saying that he is hers. Amuro herself described it as a "playful adult love song". She chose the song after listening to demos from the pop music production team Dsign Music. Stating she liked it for its "analog atmosphere" and it made her think of Sofia Coppola film Marie Antoinette, and this is reflected in the music video.[1]
Music Video
The music video for "FAST CAR" was directed by Shigeaki Kubo. It has an Elizabethan theme, but is primarily a dance video.
