Heike-ha

Heike-ha (平家派) was a Johnny's Jr. group. It disbanded, some members left the agency and just a small amount of them made it to debut as part of other groups. In 2008 the members left in the agency reunited and made Heike-ha a special group.

Trivia

  • Heike-ha was formed in September 1988 with originally 17 members. They were the "rival" of Genji from Hikaru Genji. Later they were choosen to backdance for Hikaru Genji.
  • Sorimachi Takashi left Johnny's and started modelling.
  • In 1990 Eiji Furukawa debuted as a member of Ninja.
  • In 1990 a backdancing unit specifically for SMAP was formed called SMAP Gakuen. Kokubun Taichi, Sakamoto Masayuki and Inohara Yoshihiko were choosen to be part of this group.
  • Jirou Matsumoto quit Johnny's.
  • And so Heike-ha was disbanded in 1990.
  • 1992, J-Eleven was formed.
  • 1994, Joshima Shigeru, Yamaguchi Tatsuya and Kokubun Taichi debuted as TOKIO.
  • 1995, Sakamoto Masayuki, Nagano Hiroshi and Inohara Yoshihiko debuted as 20th Century from V6.
  • January 1st, 2007, Sakamoto Masayuki guessed on Kokubun Taichi's show, The Shounen Club PREMIUM, there they recalled their memories of Heike-ha. Since then when another ex-member of Heike-ha came as guess they mentioned Heike-ha. Kokubun then talked about his decision to try to reunite the left members of Heike-ha for a show.
  • Finaly in 2008 the 6 members of Heike-ha that are left in the agency reunited for an episode on Shounen Club Premium. Besides talking they once again performed as backdancer for the song Tsurugi no Mai with some Johnny's Jrs. taking the position of Hikaru GENJI. This episode was aired on March 16th.
  • In 2009 they once again reunited for another episode of Shounen Club Premium, that got aired on December 20th. This time they performed a song by Hikaru Genji, Graduation. Kokubun Taichi rearranged the song for them. Their performance was recieved very well by the audience. The show got lots of positive comments.
  • In 2010 the six of them were given the oppurtunity to perform the same song on FNS Kayousai. And once again they show up on Shounen Club Premium, that was aired on December 24th. This time they performed STAY WITH ME from Otokogumi. In this episode they talked about how interesting it would be to hold a concert with the six of them.
  • On November 29th, 2011, they held a small concert at Tokyo Globe Theatre as part of recording for Shounen Club Premium Christmas Special. There they danced to the song Tsurugi no Mai as Yara Tomoyuki and They Budou performed it. Heike-ha themselves performed Graduation, Garasu No Judai, Chikyuu wo Sagashite and STAY WITH ME. This episode was aired on December 23th and reaired on 25th.
