Ikeda Aya got her start in 2008 when she joined the group C-ZONE. She made her solo debut two years by releasing the single "Alright! Heartcatch Precure!" with Kudo Mayu on March 17, 2010. "Alright! Heartcatch Precure!" was used as the theme song for the anime Heartcatch Precure!. Ikeda continued to sing various songs for the Precure series for such seasons like Sweet Precure♪ and Smile Precure!.

Ikeda Aya graduated from C-ZONE on November 2010 in order to become a solo artists. She released her first solo album, episode 1, one and half years later on April 6, 2012.
