Pre-Debut
Jjun was a member of a dance youth team when he was chosen by SM Entertainment. He was elected when he danced a dance team audition called " Best Teenage Dance Competition " ( Best Teen Dance Competition ) held in the city of Gwang -Joo . U-Know of DBSK was also chosen in that competition.
Jjun says "If I had made the right decision , it could have been a member of DBSK or Super Junior. "
He was tempted to switch to another company , but it went bankrupt without being able to debut. He began training for the same keeping the promise he had made to his father before he died and supported by his mother, working part time , studied and trained the remaining time, has since had many failed attempts debut. In the past 11 years , the only thing that helped Jjun to focus on his dream was his determination to become a singer in spite of the difficulties he has suffered. His father died when he was 13, so it was her mother who has supported his family by working as a kitchen hand in restaurants. Jjun , the second son in the family , I felt I was being a bad son to pursue his dream of becoming a singer. Sometimes his mother struggled with difficulties and Jjun cried .
Debut

Many industry experts believe music to be a solo singer in the midst of idol groups can be a great adventure for Jjun . However, Jjun proudly says, " I feel that I can do after what I've experienced. I would try to all do not have to be a member of an idol group to survive in the music."
Working with the best producers in South Korea, Brave Brothers. At first they refused to compose for Jjun saying they were overwhelmed with work. However, they changed their minds once they saw the video (demo ) of Jjun produced by Cool Family, his production company . The "`Brave_Brothers" immediately realized the great potential of Jjun and agreed to produce their first single "Just Cry . "
