Kamiya Hiroshi (神谷浩史) is an Japanese pop singer and anime seiyuu who has had roles in several anime, including Kidou Senshi Gundam 00 as Tieria Erde and Sayonara Zetsubou-Sensei as Itoshiki Nozomu.

Information

Kamiya Hiroshi was born in Matsudo, Chiba Prefecture but grew up in Ushiku, Ibaraki Prefecture. When he was little, he dreamt to become a bus driver. During the same time, he also joined the karate club at the elementary school he attended where he continued to be a member of in middle and high school. After he received his black belt in high school, he decided to quit karate club and was persuaded to join the drama club by a friend. After a couple months in the club and being in a couple of performances, Kamiya started to star in lead roles in various plays and win various awards. Before high school graduation, Kamiya decided that he wanted to become an actor and switched his focus from math and science to humanities.

Kamiya wanted attended Osaka University of Arts after high school but couldn't after he failed the college entrance exam. So, after graduating high school, Kamiya Hiroshi went to study how to become a voice actor at Aoni Coaching School. He made his debut in the mid-90s by doing small roles in various anime and being a narrator in various company and television stints. He become well-known in 2006 when he played the character Tieria Erde in the anime series Kidou Senshi Gundam 00. He also became popular in the series Sayonara Zetsubou-Sensei, where he played the character Itoshiki Nozomu. Both roles helped him to win various awards at the Seiyuu Awards. Kamiya also became a radio host with fellow voice actor Ono Daisuke in 2007 with the show DearGirl ~Stories~.

Even though Kamiya appeared on various character singles and albums, he didn't start his solo singing career until 2009 with the mini-album Hare no Hi. He released his first single, entitled "For myself", a year later on the label Kiramune. The single was a success as it reached #6 on the Oricon charts on it's first week.

In August 2006, Kamiya was hospitalized for a short while after being involved with a traffic accident.
