History
Prior to joining the Hello Pro Kenshuusei Kanemitsu Ruru was active as a musical stage actress, and had unsuccessfully auditioned twice for Morning Musume, including participating in the "Morning Musume '16 Shinseiki Audition". She took part in the "Hello! Project Shin Member Audition" and became a finalist in 2017. When it was announced that no winners would be chosen from the audition, she and several other finalists accepted an invitation to join Hello Pro Kenshuusei. They made their first live appearance and were officially introduced at the "Hello! Project Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2017 12gatsu ~Conti→New!~" concert on December 10, 2017.
On July 11, 2019 Kanemitsu was announced alongside four other members from Hello Pro Kenshuusei and Hello Pro Kenshuusei Hokkaido, including Yonemura Kirara, Ishiguri Kanami, Kubota Nanami, and Saito Madoka, as the starting lineup for a new Hello Pro Kenshuusei Unit. The unit would allow for closer evaluation of participating members performance levels as they continued their training, and would feature a non-permanent lineup that could change at any time depending on the situation.
Within an update released on December 29, 2019 regarding the cast appearances at the "Hello! Project COUNTDOWN PARTY 2019 ~GOOD BYE & HELLO!~" concerts it was announced that Kanemitsu Ruru's training activities had ended at her own request.
