The single was produced by American producer Babyface, who announced that the single would be released on May 22, 2002 under BMG Japan, however it was released on January 30, 2002 under DefSTAR Records. The single peaked at #4 on the Oricon charts, charting for six weeks and selling 114,670 copies.
