NIL is the major debut and second overall album released by the GazettE. It is also their first release with their current name. This was released in two different versions: a limited CD+DVD edition and a regular CD only edition. The limited edition comes in special packaging along with a 28-page booklet and a DVD of the PV for track #7 "SHADOW VI II I". The first pressing of the regular edition comes with a 16-page booklet. The album was later released in Europe through CLJ Records, coming with an extra booklet of the lyrics translated into English and transliterated into Romaji.
The album reached #4 on the Oricon charts, where it charted for 10 weeks.
