Red is Aikawa Nanase's first album. It reached #1 on the weekly Oricon charts and charted for fifty-four weeks, selling over two million copies. Because it sold 2,157,910 copies in 1996, it reached #10 on the yearly Oricon charts for 1996. It also sold 296,770 copies in 1997 and thus reached #71 on the yearly Oricon chart for that year. The album also won the award for Rock Album Award at the 11th Annual Golden Disk Awards.
