Steve Kim is a Korean-American rapper, best known for his work with the popular 90's Korean hip-hop group Uptown. He was also one half of the now defunct hip-hop duo Uptown 3000.

Wrongfully accused of murder

On December 11, Man Nguyen, a Vietnamese-American was found murdered in the backyard of his parents Burbank home. Kim had been seen leaving the scene by witnesses and was considered a primary suspect by Burbank police. After going into hiding for several days, Kim turned himself in at Burbank police headquarters on December 14. He was held on a first-degree murder charge on $2 million bail for four months. However after overwhelming evidence showed Kim was not responsible for the murder, Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Lia Martin announced that their office would no longer pursue a case against Kim. In May of 2007, Kim sued the Los Angeles Police Department for wrongful imprisonment.

Music career comeback in Korea

As of 2006, Kim returned to Korea to make a comeback with original Uptown members, Carlos Galvan and Chris Jung. In May 2006, their new album "Testimony" was released.

In 2007 Steve Kim became a part of the group SOUL-TOWN along with former Uptown member Chris Jung and members of the group Solid.
