Formatting

Hello Chiky! I just wanted to go over a couple things. I've recently added an update to the Style Guide.

  • When creating pages such as Tree please remember to properly link the song pages.
  • A lot of our pages don't have a lot of information. It would be great to see the Yearly Oricon rankings written out like on these pages: "Baby Don't Cry" and ENTERTAINMENT.
  • Song, Single, and Albums titles should not be written in bold. Instead long works (albums, DVDs, mini-albums) should be written in italics (ex. Queen of Hip-Pop) and shorter works (singles and songs) should be written with quotation marks (ex. "Boyfriend (What Makes You Fall In Love)" ).
    • Really the only time we should Bold things are the first time an artist or band is mention on their page (in the introduction) and in the Discography if they record under a different name; Examples JILLE, who recorded two singles as Tasha gee.
  • If there is a certification (Gold, Platinum, Double Platinum) by the RIAJ there should be the proper category attached to it.
  • Also if you are adding the Oricon chart, please only keep the amount of rows for the amount of information you have. Unless it's a new release there is no reason to put empty chart information.

Hello Themonkeyofdoom,

I don't know if it's okay for me to reply, but I just want to say thank you for your message on how to properly creating and/or editing the pages in this site. Honestly, it's been quite a time since my last contribution to this site, so I'm not aware of any new rules or guides about pages format. And I'm truly sorry of that...I'll be more careful next time.

Thanks.

It's fine to reply here. I've also been posting and asking questions in the forum if you would like to join. It's not a problem at all. Thank you for contributions to the Wiki!!

Please don't change the name orders. They are correct as per the Style Guide. We use the traditional style of Family Name first.

Hi, welcome to the wiki. We don't allow copying information, so please next time use your own words when adding information. Also, please use the Preview button before saving changes, more than 40 revisions on a single day is waaaay too much.

Sorry if I did something wrong. I'm just trying to add new chart and copy the older chart format. I'll redo my chart from scratch if it's OK with you!? I'm sorry cause I'm newbie with this thing.

Yeah, sure. Taking an existing page as template is the best way to create a new page. I deleted it because it was a copy of the 2010 chart. BTW, are you going to finish the Top100 or are you going to leave the Top10 (I ask only because if so the title must be changed). Welcome again!!.

I'm going to finish the TOP 100 page.

Please, remember to use the "Show Preview" button before saving changes to not spam the recent changes page. Thank you.

One more thing, unless you are going to fill the tables, don't add those extra weeks to the Oricon charts, because it's really pointless to have all those "x".

OK, sorry.
