Kalafina

Kalafina is a Japanese vocal founded by Kajiura Yuki that originally was to perform theme songs for the animated movie series Kara no Kyoukai -the Garden of sinners-. They have since continued to release music after that objective was complete. They are currently signed to SME Records.

The group first appeared in January 2008 with two original members from Yuki Kajiura's FictionJunction project, Optaki Wakana and Kubota Keiko, whose membership was not confirmed until the first Dream Port 2008 concert held on April 29, 2008. In May 2008, it was announced that two more vocalists, Maya and Hikaru, would be added to the project. On May 7, 2009, it was announced during Kalafina's "Musou no Rakuen" concert that Maya was a seasonal member for "sprinter / ARIA" and Kalafina would continue from then on with three members. Kalafina moved to the Sacra Music record label under Sony Music Entertainment Japan in April 2017.

Their 21st single "Hyakka Ryouran" is released this week on August 9th.
