Information

"Akai Sweet Pea" is Matsuda Seiko's 8th single. It was re-released in CD format in 2004 including the instrumental tracks. A "new version" or "second part" of the title track, titled "Zoku・Akai Sweet Pea", was released six years later included in Matsuda's 15th album Citron, also a Chinese version was released 13 years later on Matsuda's first Chinese release I'll fall in love Ai De Li Wu. "Akai Sweet Pea" was one of the songs chosen in 2009 for Matsuda Seiko's and Nakajima Miyuki's Fujifilm Astalift CM series. The title track has been covered several times by various Japanese artists like BONNIE PINK, CHiYO, Mizuki Nana or Tanpopo#. The single reached #1 on Oricon charts and sold 500,000 copies, becoming the #12 single of 1982. The re-edition CD reached #85 and charted for one week.
