VHD (Video High Density) was a videodisc format that was sold exclusively in Japan during the early 1980s by JVC. The VHD stored up to 60 minutes of video on each side and contained two frames per resolution. VHD was first sold in Japan in 1981 and found it's popularity as a karaoke and video game system. However, the VHD was not as successful as JVC hoped and JVC stop producing the videodisc by the 1990s.
