Crystal is the debut studio album recorded by DOUBLE, and is their only LP recorded as a duo. After this release SACHIKO passed away in May 1999 and TAKAKO continued DOUBLE as a solo project. The album reached #2 on the weekly Oricon chart, and continued to rank for a total of 16 weeks. Crystal sold 636,440 copies in 1999, making it the #45 best-selling album of the year.
