In spite, he could create a team, and he could play is first and only match with the Kitagawa Daichi middle school. This team's member was Kageyama Tobio, who got "The King of the Court" as a sobriquet, because of his maximalist and tyrant attitude. Although Kitagawa Daichi team easily won the match, Kageyama took notice on Hinata's speed and jumping ability, and he always does his best, even if there's no chance of winning. Hinata took a resolution, that one day he will defeat Kageyama. He chose the Karasuno High School, where he can train Volleyball seriously. He was very surprised, what it was revealed to him, that Kageyama will be his team mate. Here starts the Karasuno High School's career to the national championship.
