Shin Jimin (신지민) is a South Korean artist under ALO MALO Entertainment. She is a former member of the Korean pop girl group AOA. She left the group on July 4, 2020 after her bullying controversy. She made her solo debut on February 22, 2023 with the EP BOXES.

2015: Unpretty Rapstar & Solo Activities

On January 12, 2015, it was revealed that Jimin will be part of Unpretty Rapstar, a female rappers survival program.

During Unpretty Rapstar, Jimin released a few collaboration singles such as "Sijagi Joha 2015" with Im Seulong which was produced by Verbal Jint and which peaked at #2 on the Gaon Singles Chart. She also released "T4SA" with MC Meta and Nuck. Her rap battle song "Puss" with rapper Iron during the semifinals was also released, peaking at #1 on the Gaon Singles Chart.

On April 23, 2015, FNC Entertainment announced that the members of the 'N Project' were Jimin and N.Flying's J.Don. The full song and the music video was released on April 28, 2015.

2020-22: Departure from AOA & New Label

Jimin left AOA on July 4, 2020 after her bullying controversy. She also halted all activities in the entertainment industry. Her contract with FNC Entertainment expired on January 12, 2022. On July 14, she signed an exclusive contract with ALO MALO Entertainment and confirmed her return to the entertainment industry.

  • From her second year of middle school to her first year of high school, she studied abroad in China for two years and is able to speak Chinese.
  • She can play the guitar, the harmonica, and the piano.
  • Her angel name in AOA was Jiminel (지미넬).
