It was the first single, which was not only available only at CD shops, but at toy, videogame and Pokémon specialist shops. And because of it, some estimations are about the single had sold more than 1,85 million, or even more than 2 million copies. The Oricon didn't count those copies, which were sold at other shops. That's why the single did not chart on its first weeks. The single appeared at the charts only about 1.5 months later, with 12,800 copies sold. On the next 2 months, the single went up to Top 20, and later to Top 10, but the 7th position could reach only at 12th January 1998. The total sales reached 1 million at March 1998. However this is official, the single didn't receive the certification from the [[Record Industry Association of Japan Million]]. But when the unofficial sales reached 1,51 million copies the label: Pikachu Records produced special Gold discs (because of the number of 151 species of Pokémon at this time), which were shipped in very limited copies to interested parties.

The single was also released in 2017 due the 20th Anniversary of the title track. Because of the amount of the track, it's counted as an album. This version released #17 on the [[Oricon]] weekly charts, charted for five weeks, selling 7,775 copies. And because it sold 6,293 copies in 2017, it became the #643 single of the year.
