Minimoni ja Movie Okashi na Daibouken! Cover

ミニモニ。じゃ ムービー お菓子な大冒険! (Romaji: Minimoni ja Movie Okashi na Daibouken!; English: Minimoni the Movie: The Great Sweets Adventure!) is a movie featuring Minimoni. It starred all five members of the group, was directed by Shinji Higuchi, and featured songs by Nakazawa Yuko, who also joined the vocal cast of the animated sequence.

The movie was not only a stand-alone story, but it provided a fun public platform to announce Takahashi Ai joining Minimoni and Yaguchi Mari leaving, along with Mika Todd's promotion to leader at the time. The movie also stars four of the girls from Hello! Project Kids (4KIDS): Sugaya Risako, Hagiwara Mai, Suzuki Airi and Sudou Maasa. Sugaya and Sudou are now members of the group Berryz Koubou; Suzuki and Hagiwara are members of C-ute.

Plot Summary

Welcome to the Minimoni cafe, run by Yaguchi Mari with the 'help' of Tsuji Nozomi, Kago Ai and Mika Todd. These girls live in a crazy building shaped like a bunny head (which is in an even crazier shiny 3D land) and spend their days serving cakes to happy customers. They are getting ready to celebrate their business's second anniversary when they inadvertantly get kidnapped by some cake-loving fairies and their cake-hating queen (played by Nakazawa Yuko, who has a super funky theme song), and have to find a way back to the real world in time for tomorrow's anniversary party!
