Moriuchi Takahiro is the son of famous Enka singer Mori Shinichi. He was picked as a member of NEWS, and sang as part of the unit's single "NEWS Nippon", in September of 2003. However, he left the agency on 18th of December 2003 right before NEWS' official debut as he wanted to continue his education (although rumors of other reasons still persist).

In 2005 he joined the rock band ONE OK ROCK as their vocalist and began going under the alias Taka. His parents divorced afterwards and he changed his legal name to Morita Takahiro (森田貴寛).
